Randeep Hooda who was recently seen in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar has recalled an incident where he supported Alia Bhatt in the year 2019. Randeep revealed taking a stand for Alia because he felt that she was being unfairly targeted by Kangana Ranaut.
Randeep Hooda Opens Up About Supporting Alia Bhat When Kangana Ranaut Slammed Her:
In an Interview with Siddharth Kanan, the Sarabjit actor revealed how he stood up for Alia Bhatt after being trolled by Kangana Ranaut for her performance in Gully Boy.
Randeep said “While making Highway, I developed a spiritual bond with Alia. I don’t know if it’s the same for her. That’s up to her. I can only speak for myself. I have seen that she has always tried to do new things. I stood up for her genuinely because she was unfairly targeted. To target your fellow actors or your colleagues or your fraternity over things that you feel you did not get, even though I think you did get a lot from this industry, it’s just unbecoming. I felt that I should do it and I did it.”
When Kangana Lashed Out At Alia Bhatt:
For the unknown, Kangana talking about Alia’s performance said “I am embarrassed…What is there to beat in Gully Boy performance ….same snappy muh phat girl… Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media have taken filmy kids love too far. Stop pampering mediocre work or else the bar will never be raised.”

After Kangana’s comment, Randeep took to his X platform(Previously Twitter) and wrote “Dearest @aliaa08 I’m so glad you are not letting the opinions of very occasional actors and chronic victims affect you and your work .. kudos to you for your continued efforts to outdo yourself”.
Gully Boy is a 2019 movie starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, directed by Zoya Akhtar. The movie received appreciation for its lead actor’s performance. However, Kangana lashed out at Alia and blamed nepotism for the appreciation Alia received.

Randeep and Alia worked together in Highway while Randeep worked together with Kangana Ranaut in Ungli and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai.
On the work front, Randeep Hooda last appeared in Tera Kya Hoga Lovely. His recent movie Swatantrya Veer Savarkar based on the real life incidents of Freedom Fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar is running in theatres. The movie received good reviews but the collections aren’t as expected. Randeep is being trolled for playing the role of Veer Savarkar and lately the actor expressed his disappointment for the lack of support.
Kangana Ranaut last appeared in Tejas. Her upcoming films are Emergency and Untitled Psychological thriller. Apart from this, Kangana made her political entry as she will be contesting in upcoming Parliament elections on BJP ticket.
