Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey has received immense appreciation and praises from the audience for his performance in 12th Fail. The actor also won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. However, the actor has now received massive backlash for one of his old tweets from 2018.
Vikrant Massey Apologies For His Old Tweet About Lord Rama And Goddess Sita:
In his tweet, the actor expressed his concern regarding the Kathua and Unnao rape cases. However, he shared a cartoon featuring Lord Rama and Goddess Sita, where Sita expresses relief for being kidnapped by Ravan rather than Ram Bhakts. This has triggered massive outrage for his insensitive remarks by the community.
Reacting to the social media outrage, Vikrant deleted the controversial tweet and decided to issue an apology. In the latest tweet on his X platform, the actor wrote:
“In context to one of my Tweets way back in 2018, I’d like to say a few words:Â
It was never my intention to hurt, malign, or disrespect the Hindu community. But as I reflect in hindsight about a Tweet made in jest, I also release the distasteful nature of it. The same could have been said without adding the cartoon which was published in a newspaper.
And I’d with utmost humility like to apologize to each and everyone who has been hurt. As you all by now know, that I hold all faiths, beliefs, and religions with the highest possible regard. We all grow up with time and reflect upon our mistakes. This was mine. Regards.”
