Anupamaa is one of the most popular TV Shows in India. The daily soap has consistently topped the list of TRP reports for a long time. The title role Anupamaa is played by Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna played Anuj Kapadia, husband of Anu.
Anuj Kapadia Leaving Anupamaa Alone?
Earlier, the show took a leap of five years that altered the narrative. Anupama moved to the United States to chase her dreams. However, she encountered Anuj and his Fiancee Shruti along with Aadya(Choti Anu).
If the latest reports are to be believed, it is said that Anuj will due in the upcoming show. The makers are planning to follow the original story and bringing in Anuj’s death track to boost the TRPs.
A report in Telly Express stated that Anuj’s death track will be induced as the TRPs are going down.
Recently, Gaurav Khanna spoke about his character in the show to IANS. He said “He is stuck. He is being stretched in two polar opposite directions. And as an actor, I am very lucky that producer Rajan Shahi has given me this opportunity, and I am thankful that he has trusted me with such a difficult character to play. It seems very simple on the surface, but trust me, this is one of the toughest characters I have played so far. He has enlarged the envelope for the character Anuj, be it his wheelchair journey, be it his seperation from his wife and then bringing up his daughter, then daughter in her teenage, then a single father.”

Gaurav further added “TV serials are generally women driven, and for a male character to get such role with so many layers, with so many interpersonal emotions attached and so many nuances, its incredible. Its a wonderful character and very few male actors on TV, at least in India, have got to play such characters”.
Anupamaa is a Hindi remake of Bengali show Sreemoyee and Sreemoyee’s second husband death track has impacted the TRPs. Also, the Marathi version Aai Kuthey Kaay Karte too followed the same route.
